CDRSEE We are committed to investigating specific ways of enhancing and encouraging social dialogue and building social cohesion in this part of Europe. The CDRSEE activities raise awareness via publications, workshops, textbook analysis, academic conferences, opinion polls, training sessions, and cultural and artistic programmes. An increased exchange of information between the countries of the region via textbooks, school lessons, media, popular culture, art, and regional youth initiatives is essential to lasting peace. Our Commitment, 2007 As international funding for the Balkans is reduced, yet major changes have taken place in 2006 and more are due to take place in the near future, the CDRSEE recognises that support for the societies of the region is crucial if Southeast Europe is to emerge from the recent large-scale events in a peaceful and democratic manner. Much of the social capital that has been built up over the last decade is at risk of being lost, if genuine indigenous solutions are not encouraged, fostered and strengthened. CPDD The Center for Peace and Democracy Development (CPDD) is a visionary non-governmental organization that was established in 1991 in Belgrade, as the Center for Antiwar Action (CAA). To make war and dictatorship in the Balkans a thing of the past - never again! The Mission of the CPDD is to establish a durable peace, democracy, cooperation, and reconciliation in Serbia and among its neighbors - countries and peoples in the region. This will be done by vigorously opposing belligerent actions and attitudes and by promoting a culture of non-violence, vibrant civil society, professional civil service, democratic leadership, rule of law, good governance, respect for human rights and principles of non-discrimination, decentralized institution-building and the participation of well informed and active citizens responsible for their own futures. The CPDD believes that these are the conditions that are necessary to prevent the violence of the past, create a sustainable transition to a true modern democracy and promote accelerated development in Serbia with a clear vision of the whole region’s place in the European Union.
STRATEGY The CPDD works to accomplish its mission and values through educational programs for young people and professionals, by creating public awareness of the importance of peace and democracy, by facing the past and working towards reconciliation, by developing sound public policy and monitoring implementation of laws, by encouraging best practices in governance and capacity building in human resources and public institutions, and through network building and cooperation with other nongovernmental organizations, local governments, socially responsible businesses and professional organizations, at local, national and regional levels. NSHC Novi Sad Humanitarian Center is non-profit, non-governmental organization which contributes to the development of humane society through provision of support to vulnerable populations, development of civil society, through research and education.
